UBA CEO Advocates for Security and Infrastructure Focus to Drive South-East Vision 2050

UBA CEO Olivier Alawuba has urged leaders and stakeholders in Nigeria's South-East to prioritize security, bankable projects, and infrastructure development to drive the South-East Vision 2050. Alawuba emphasized the importance of peace and security as critical requirements to attract investments, highlighting the need for a conducive business environment.

He called for a clear definition and packaging of measurable value-added projects capable of attracting long-term financing to unlock the region's growth potential. Alawuba commended the progress made by South-East governors in road construction and critical infrastructure development but stressed the need for accelerated delivery and scaling up of infrastructure projects.

The forum, attended by top government officials, private sector leaders, and traditional rulers, aimed to build consensus on a shared development pathway for the region. Alawuba reaffirmed UBA's readiness to partner with the SEDC and South-East state governments to mobilize long-term capital essential for realizing the Vision 2050 framework.
