UBA Empowers Over 700 Young Professionals in Africa

UBA Plc has reinforced its commitment to tackling youth unemployment across Africa by successfully employing over 700 young professionals through its Graduate Management Accelerated Programme (GMAP). The initiative aims to empower 5,000 young graduates across the continent by providing world-class training and hands-on experience in the financial services industry.

A graduation ceremony was held in Lagos, attended by esteemed guests including UBA's Group Chairman, Toni Elumelu, who emphasized the importance of youth in shaping Africa's future. Elumelu encouraged graduates to take ownership of their careers and to exhibit discipline, stating that leadership opportunities should not be reserved for a select few.

UBA's Group Managing Director and CEO, Olubunmi Alawuba, reflected on the journey of young professionals and reiterated that entry-level leadership roles are accessible to all who are willing to grow and work hard.
