UBA Launches Diaspora Platform to Capture $100bn Remittance

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has launched a Diaspora Platform with the ambition of capturing $100 billion in remittances. The platform was unveiled at UBA's headquarters in Lagos, under the theme "Beyond Banking." Anant Rao, UBA's head of diaspora banking, emphasized that the African diaspora's remittance flows exceed $100 billion annually, representing a resilient and consistent source of capital.

The platform aims to redefine diaspora banking by moving beyond mere remittances to focus on wealth creation and long-term investments. UBA's initiative involves collaboration with key ecosystem partners, including Capital Africa, Prudenti, UBA Pension, Afriland Properties, Heir Insurance Group, and Avon Healthcare.

The launch event showcased the seamless platform designed to protect and promote long-term prosperity for the African diaspora.
