UBA Launches Diaspora Banking Platform for Africans Abroad

United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) has unveiled its integrated Diaspora Banking and Investment Platform, designed to deepen financial engagement for Africans living and working globally. Anant Rao, UBA's head of Diaspora Banking, described the platform as a shift in Africa's engagement with its global citizens, moving beyond mere remittance services to a comprehensive financial ecosystem.

The platform aims to facilitate banking, investment, pension, insurance, and real estate asset management solutions, developed in collaboration with partners such as Unit Capital Plc, Prudenti Plc, UBA Pension, Afriland Properties Plc, Heir Insurance Group, and Avon Healthcare Limited. Rao noted that diaspora remittances to Africa exceed $100 billion annually, highlighting the importance of this capital as a resilient funding source.

The platform is structured to address diverse needs, enabling diaspora customers to manage their financial commitments transparently and efficiently across borders. Alero Ladipo, UBA's group head of market corporate communications, emphasized the importance of collaboration among ecosystem partners to deliver a seamless customer experience for modern African global citizens.
