Gary Lineker Names Top European Teams, Snubs Arsenal

Gary Lineker, a former Barcelona star, has named Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Bayern Munich, and Barcelona as the three best teams in Europe, omitting Arsenal despite their commendable achievement of reaching the Champions League final. Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, aimed to secure their first Champions League title in Budapest on a Saturday night, having taken an early lead through a penalty by Kai Havertz.

Ousmane Dembélé's goal in the second half led to extra time and a subsequent penalty shootout, where Arsenal's Eberechi Eze and Gabriel failed to score, resulting in a painful defeat. Lineker discussed Arsenal's defensive strategy, stating it was essential for competing against back-to-back champions PSG.

However, he expressed disappointment that Arsenal could not defeat PSG, asserting that football recognizes various styles of play. He emphasized that there is nothing inherently wrong with a defensive approach, but fans desire entertaining football that showcases creativity and the best players.
