Osimhen's Assist Leads Galatasaray to 1-0 Win Over Liverpool

In the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 first leg held at Ram Park on Tuesday, Galatasaray secured a 1-0 victory against Liverpool. Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen played a crucial role by assisting Mario Lemina, who scored the match's only goal with a header in the seventh minute, nodding the ball past goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Despite Liverpool's persistent pressure throughout the match, they failed to find the back of the net, with Mohamed Salah being a key player but unable to break through Galatasaray's defense. Osimhen had two opportunities to extend the lead but missed a header and a close-range chance.

Liverpool started the second half strongly, coming close to equalizing with a shot from Alexi Mac Allister that went just wide. A Galatasaray goal was disallowed for offside, and a Liverpool goal was ruled out for handball against Ibrahima Konate.

The two teams will meet again at Anfield next week, where Liverpool will need to score without conceding to progress.
