Vinicius Jr Surpasses Messi's Assist Record in UCL

Vinicius Jr, a star player for Real Madrid, has broken Lionel Messi's record for assists in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage. He achieved this milestone by providing an assist to Kylian Mbappé during the second leg of the quarter-final against Bayern Munich, despite Real Madrid's 4-3 defeat in that match, which led to their elimination from the tournament with a 6-4 aggregate score.

Vinicius Jr now holds 13 assists in 41 Champions League knockout matches, surpassing Messi's previous record of 12 assists in 77 knockout appearances. However, he still trails behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 15 assists in 85 knockout games.

Vinicius Jr has secured two Champions League titles with Real Madrid, while Messi has four titles, and Ronaldo has five, four of which were won during his tenure at Real Madrid.
