PSG Defeats Bayern Munich 5-4 in Champions League Thriller

In a historic UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) edged Bayern Munich 5-4 in a match that produced the highest score ever seen at this stage of the competition. Bayern's Harry Kane opened the scoring with a penalty in the 17th minute after Luis Diaz was brought down in the box.

PSG responded with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia equalizing before Joao Neves headed home from an Ousmane Dembélé corner to give PSG a 2-1 lead. Bayern quickly restored parity through Michael Olise.

Just before halftime, a handball decision in favor of PSG led to Dembélé converting a penalty, giving PSG a 3-2 advantage at the break. After the restart, PSG extended their lead with Kvaratskhelia's second goal and Dembélé's second shortly after.

Bayern fought back late with goals from Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz, but PSG held on to secure a narrow first leg lead ahead of the return fixture in Munich on May 30.
