UEFA Names Arda Güler 2025/26 Champions League Star

UEFA has named Arda Güler of Real Madrid as the 2025/26 Champions League revelation. Güler, aged 21, has made a significant leap in performance compared to the previous season, where he had limited involvement with only seven appearances totaling 142 minutes.

In the current season, he has featured in 14 matches, starting 13, and has played a total of 1,030 minutes. He contributed four assists and scored his first two goals in the Champions League during Real Madrid's quarter-final second leg against Bayern.

Güler covered a total distance of 126.12 kilometers and recorded a top speed of 32.12 km/h, according to UEFA. The award is given to players aged 21 or younger at the start of the season, and Güler is recognized for his individual skill and impact on team performance.

Previous winners of the young player season award include Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Júnior.
