Nigerian Footballer Saburi Adeniji Dies After Brain Injury at UK Club

Saburi Adeniji, a Nigerian footballer who played as a left-winger for King Park Ranger Football Club in Suffolk, England, has died after battling severe brain stem injuries. Adeniji, popularly known as Ola, passed away on a Friday morning.

He had been admitted to intensive care on January 15, 2026, at Queen's Hospital in Romford, East London, where doctors confirmed his severe condition. Despite efforts, his health deteriorated, leading to the decision to withdraw life support.

A fundraising campaign has been initiated to support his wife and four-year-old daughter, who reside in Nigeria. The club has expressed deep sorrow over Adeniji's passing and called for support for his family during this difficult time.
