UK Flags 20 Nigerian States as High-Risk for Travel Due to Insecurity

The UK government has issued a fresh travel warning to its citizens regarding the high level of insecurity in Nigeria, listing 20 states as high-risk for travel. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) highlighted the prevalence of kidnapping, terrorism, and intercommunal clashes across the country.

Specific threats from groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP were mentioned, particularly in northern states and the Niger Delta region. British nationals are advised to maintain strict security arrangements and avoid large gatherings.

The advisory also cautions against travel to certain regions due to ongoing military operations and volatile security situations.
