UK and Nigeria Launch £15M Economic Transformation Program

The UK and Nigeria have initiated a £15 million program to accelerate economic transformation in Nigeria. This program, announced following a two-day visit by Baroness Chapman, aims to deepen cooperation in various sectors, particularly in healthcare and the digital economy.

During her visit, Baroness Chapman met with Nigeria's Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of Economy to discuss the new UK-Nigeria Growth Program, which is designed to unlock private investment and support Nigeria's macroeconomic stabilization and sustainable reforms over the next three years. The program also includes a digital access initiative that will facilitate digital governance reforms across five Nigerian states, reducing regulatory barriers to encourage greater investment in broadband infrastructure and emerging technologies.

Baroness Chapman expressed confidence in the partnership between the UK and Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for mutual growth and prosperity.
