WHO Warns: Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure Puts One Billion at Risk

The World Health Organization (WHO) revealed in its second Global Hypertension Report that over one billion people worldwide are at risk due to uncontrolled high blood pressure. Despite the availability of medications, one in five individuals with hypertension lacks proper control.

The report, unveiled during the 80th United Nations General Assembly, highlighted the significant health risks associated with untreated hypertension, including heart attacks, strokes, and other chronic conditions. The findings underscore the urgent need for improved prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of hypertension to prevent premature deaths and economic losses globally.
