UNILAG Sets Merit Cut-Off Scores for 2026/2027 Admission Cycle

On Wednesday, September 16, the University of Lagos disclosed the minimum UTME scores needed for merit-based admission during the 2026/2027 academic session, setting forth the baseline qualifications applicants must achieve to gain entry into various undergraduate programmes. The institution released cut-off figures spanning multiple faculties, marking the official commencement of the admission process for the coming academic year.

Computer Engineering topped the competitive programmes list with the highest merit threshold of 82.175, followed closely by Computer Science in the Faculty of Computing and Informatics at 82.05. Within the Faculty of Health Professions, Medical Laboratory Science required a score of 75.075.

Additionally, the university disclosed qualifying marks for professional courses such as Pharmacy (78.325) and Law (79.125), underscoring their competitive standing across Nigeria's premier institution. LAG also established state-specific catchment thresholds for applicants originating from six states: Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo.

These regional cut-offs differ by programme and state of origin, with catchment marks typically positioned beneath the national merit benchmarks. For Computer Science, catchment scores ranged from 73.225 for Lagos residents to higher figures for other states, offering alternative pathways for qualified candidates from designated catchment zones.

The published figures span programmes across Engineering, Computing, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Mass Communication faculties. Applicants who score beneath their chosen programme's specified threshold will not qualify for merit admission under the announced criteria.
