Rivers House of Reps Members Resign from PDP, LP, Join APC Amid Political Turmoil

Four members of the Rivers House of Representatives, including Umezuruike Manuchim and Boniface Emerengwa, have resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The defections come amidst a political crisis in Rivers State, with Governor Nyesom Wike's control over the PDP structure being challenged.

The move is seen as a strategic realignment ahead of upcoming elections, with accusations of exploiting internal crises to weaken rivals. Additionally, 16 other members previously announced their defection, indicating a significant shift in political allegiances in the state.
