Kaduna Film Festival Empowers Nigerian Filmmakers with Documentary Funding Workshop

The Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF), in collaboration with the US Embassy Nigeria through the American Film Showcase (AFS), conducted a documentary funding masterclass to empower 12 filmmakers in Nigeria. Led by Lisa Hasko from AFS, the session aimed to bridge the financing gap in documentary filmmaking in Nigeria.

Participants, including both experienced and emerging filmmakers, learned essential skills in crafting business plans for documentary projects and accessing various funding opportunities. This training is crucial as Nigeria witnesses a growing interest in documentary films, with events like the iREP International Documentary Film Festival and the Africa International Film Festival showcasing the country's talent in this genre.
