Vance Denies Rift with Rubio Over 2028 Election Plans

On Tuesday, US Vice President Vance denied any conflict with Secretary of State Marco Rubio amid speculation about their roles in the 2028 presidential election. In an interview with Fox News, Vance stated that the media is interested in creating a conflict that simply does not exist.

He noted that while Donald Trump’s presidential campaign often begins discussions about potential candidates, he and Rubio are focused on their current responsibilities. Vance urged Americans to focus on their jobs rather than future political ambitions.

He referenced a statement made by Rubio in December to Vanity Fair, indicating that if he decides to run for president, he would support Vance. Additionally, Vance mentioned that Rubio would serve as a substitute White House press secretary for Karolin Leavitt during her maternity leave later this year.

Both figures from the Trump administration maintain that they are not monitoring each other's political aspirations closely.
