Five Charged with Hacking JAMB Server for Malpractice
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned five suspects for allegedly hacking into the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) server. The arraignment took place at the Federal High Court in Abuja on May 22, with Justice Musa Liman presiding.
The suspects, including Ojiyovwi Miracl, Goodluck Ovuijeddo, Denni Uvietesivwi, and Hilda Ejohwemu, face multiple charges related to cybercrime and examination malpractice. They are accused of unlawfully accessing the JAMB server and installing software named Radmi on 200 systems to obtain sensitive data.
The charges include causing loss of property and altering data for economic benefit. The suspects are also accused of conspiring to cheat in examinations and aiding examination malpractice.
Although scheduled for arraignment, the case was adjourned as the judge suggested it be heard in Delta State, where the suspects reside. The prosecution counsel, Faith Dimka, did not oppose this advice.
