Gombe State Approves N16bn for Roads and Solar Lights

The Gombe State Executive Council, led by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, approved over N1.4bn for the installation of solar-powered street lights in Gombe metropolis during its 55th meeting. The project includes 198 solar street lights along a four-kilometre corridor from the Hajj Camp to the Brigadier Zakari Maimalari International Airport, costing N400.467m.

Additionally, a contract valued at N1,087,475,891 was awarded to Mega Tech Consult Nigeria Limited for double-arm solar street lights along the Ashaka Junction–Federal College of Education axis. The council also approved N16bn for township roads in Billiri and Kaltungo Local Government Areas, with N7.295bn allocated for Kaltungo Township Road and N8.752bn for Billiri Township Road.

Furthermore, N839.471m was approved for renovations at the Brigadier Zakari Maimalari International Airport, including critical infrastructure rehabilitation and fire service truck restoration, alongside N414.345m for repairs due to heavy rainfall damage.
