Explosion Rocks Maiduguri Market Mosque, Killing Worshippers

An explosion occurred at a mosque in Maiduguri during prayers, resulting in several worshippers killed and others injured. Panic and chaos ensued in the Gamboru Market area as thick smoke billowed from the mosque.

Security operations were quickly deployed to the scene to prevent further casualties. While the exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed officially, it is believed that worshippers were targeted by assailants suspected to be linked to the terrorist group Boko Haram.
