Thugs Attack Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso's Supporters

Supporters of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, and his running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso were reportedly attacked by suspected thugs during a campaign rally in Warri, Delta State. Esther Umoh, a photographer associated with Obi, brought the incident to light through a post on X, alleging that politically sponsored thugs opened fire on members of the campaign group.

The attack specifically targeted the entourage of the Delta State governorship candidate, Dr. Mopaul, and other supporters of the Obidient and Kwankwasiyya movements. A video accompanying the claims depicted a chaotic scene, with voices heard expressing readiness to confront the attackers.

This incident occurred amid heightened political mobilization for the upcoming 2027 elections, with Obi and Kwankwaso's support structure recently forming a 59-member presidential campaign council comprising coordinators and directors nationwide.
