Tinubu's Investment Push at African CEO Forum in Rwanda

During the 13th African CEO Forum held in Kigali, Rwanda, on May 14-15, 2023, Taiwo Oyedele, Nigeria's Finance Minister, commended President Bola Tinubu for his relentless efforts in marketing Nigeria as a prime investment destination. Oyedele described Tinubu as the country's chief marketer, engaging in discussions focused on mobilizing capital and exploring economic opportunities, especially in the power and mining sectors.

He noted that Nigeria has previously struggled to adequately project its economic potential but highlighted Tinubu's track record as a credible pitch for investors. Oyedele also mentioned that during the forum, Tinubu held bilateral talks with Guinea's president, discussing iron ore development and cooperation between the two nations.

He praised Guinea's president for resisting pressure to exit the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Oyedele emphasized the need for African leaders to move beyond rhetoric and implement urgent reforms to capitalize on economic opportunities.
