Tyler Perry Explains Why He Will Never Marry

Tyler Perry, the 57-year-old Hollywood actor and filmmaker, disclosed during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show that he has no intention of marrying. He explained that his decision stems from concerns about divorce and its potential financial repercussions, stating, “I’m never marrying.

It is not the marriage that bothers me. It is the divorce.” Perry noted that he has witnessed financially successful individuals lose their wealth due to divorce.

His comments were made while promoting his latest film, "Why Did I Get Married Again?", which premiered on Netflix on September 9. Perry, who has never been married, emphasized that he still believes in love and partnership but does not wish to pursue marriage.

He also expressed a desire to spend more time with his 11-year-old son, Aman, whom he shares with his former partner, Gelila Bekele. Perry plans to relocate to Puerto Rico with Aman at the beginning of 2027 and intends to reduce his Hollywood commitments.
