Usani Clarifies Amaechi's Endorsement for 2027 Election

Usani Usani clarified that the recent voice vote endorsing Rotimi Amaechi's presidential ambitions for the 2027 election does not eliminate the possibility of support for other candidates. He noted that while the vote indicated a collective sentiment among attendees, it should not be misinterpreted as a mandate for all party members in the South-South region.

Usani highlighted that Amaechi had informed party leaders of his intent to contest and sought their backing. The motion to support Amaechi was met with applause, reflecting the mood of the gathering, but Usani emphasized that it does not compel individual actions based on personal convictions.

He also mentioned that the political space remains open for others, including notable figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party's Peter Obi, who have shown interest in the presidential race ahead of the 2027 general elections.
