Shettima Attends Wadagni's Inauguration in Benin

Vice President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja for Cotonou, Benin, to attend the presidential inauguration of Romuald Wadagni, scheduled for May 24, 2026. This event will mark Wadagni's assumption of a seven-year term as President of Benin, with his running mate, Mariam Talata, also taking the oath of office.

The inauguration ceremony will take place at the Presidential Palace in Cotonou and will follow traditional state protocols, including an official handover of power and the transfer of the presidential sash. The motorcade will proceed to the Charles de Gaulle Stadium in Porto Novo, Benin.
