APC Allegedly Distributes Food Items Ahead of Ekiti Election

A video has emerged showing alleged food items, specifically two small sachets of tomatoes and four single packs of instant noodles, purportedly distributed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State as part of their campaign efforts ahead of the gubernatorial election scheduled for June 20, 2026. The video, recorded in a rural area of the state, has drawn significant public attention and criticism, with many internet users expressing anger and sarcasm over what they perceive as an exploitation of widespread poverty for political gain.

The current governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, is seeking re-election under the APC banner following a previous victory in 2022. He faces competition from 12 political opponents, including Dr.

Wole Oluyede of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reiterated its strict stance against financial inducement during elections, urging the public to report any infractions.

As of now, Governor Oyebanji has not issued a statement regarding the allegations.
