Wave of Violence Rocks Benue Communities: Fulani Herdsman Killed, Cows Slaughtered

A series of violent attacks in Benue communities, including Otukpo, Ondo, Ugboju, and Nobi, have resulted in the death of a Fulani herdsman, Hassan Sule, and the slaughter of over 20 cows. The incidents have raised concerns about local security agencies' effectiveness and community mistrust towards law enforcement.

The attacks on December 4 and 5 involved armed men ambushing herders and killing livestock, leading to panic and military involvement. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue State has demanded the re-arrest of suspects and a thorough investigation into the killings.
