Ojudu Discusses APC Crisis During Fayemi's Governorship

Babafemi Ojudu, a former senator, reflected on the political crisis that affected the Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi. The internal disagreements within the party became public in 2020 when Ojudu openly criticized Fayemi's administration.

This criticism led to a movement aimed at expelling Fayemi from the party, with Ojudu alleging that ward executives were pressured to gather signatures for this expulsion. Notable figures such as former senators Toni Adeniyi, Oyetund Ojo, and Bimbo Daramola were implicated in this crisis.

Ojudu claimed that Clement Afolabi, the ward chairman, allegedly threatened to arrest those who refused to support the expulsion. The situation escalated to a point where national party leadership intervened, urging members to resolve their differences peacefully.

Ojudu also mentioned that security agencies became involved, claiming criminal libel against him and challenging the expulsion move.
