Displaced Bokkos Residents Urge Governor to Fulfill Promises

Displaced individuals from Bokkos, Plateau State, have issued a heartfelt appeal to Governor Caleb Mutfwang, urging him to fulfill his promises to facilitate their return to their ancestral lands. These lands have been occupied by Fulani bandits for five years, forcing the displaced residents to live in dire conditions within Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.

In an open letter signed by coordinators Mangut Alfr, Micah Malo, and David Arandong, they lament the hardships faced, including hunger, poverty, and the degradation of their families, with children turning to begging and women resorting to prostitution for survival. Despite previous assurances from the state government, the displaced people feel abandoned, as nothing has been done to help them return to their fertile lands, which now lie fallow.

They express their desire to return home and farm, especially with the rainy season approaching, and urge the governor to act on his commitments to alleviate their suffering.
