Bishops Challenge Adeboye's Views on Marriage Criteria

During a recent Holy Ghost service, Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) advised young men to consider a woman's cooking skills as a factor in marriage decisions. He cautioned against making choices based solely on physical appearance and highlighted the importance of spiritual discernment and domestic competence.

In response, Bishop Osaze William, a member of an interdenominational group of bishops, disagreed with Adeboye's stance, stating that it is not scripturally required to prioritize cooking skills in a spouse. He stressed that character and godly values should be the primary considerations when choosing a partner.

William noted the changing economic realities where many women are breadwinners, indicating that domestic duties may not be their primary focus. He also warned against the financial burdens of extravagant weddings, urging men to look beyond outward appearances when selecting a bride.
