‘Why always August?,’ Yinka Ayefele reflects on personal tragedies

Yinka Ayefele, a veteran gospel singer and broadcaster, has expressed his concern over the series of personal tragedies that seem to occur in the month of August. Following a recent fire that gutted his radio station, Fresh FM Blast FM in Ibadan, Ayefele questioned why many heartbreaking experiences are linked to this particular month.

He reflected on the tragic loss of his younger brother, Oluwole Ayefele, who died in a fatal accident on August 2. Additionally, he mentioned the demolition of his popular Music House in Ibadan on August 19 seven years ago.

The recent fire that destroyed his radio station on August 15, 2025, further added to his woes. Despite these recurring setbacks, Ayefele expressed gratitude to God for the support that continues to give him strength during difficult times.
