Gwarzo Resigns from NNPP, Citing Political Realignment

Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, who served as the former Deputy Governor of Kano State, has officially resigned from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). In a resignation letter addressed to the party chairman and dated March 29, 2026, Gwarzo stated that his decision to leave the party was influenced by recent developments in the political landscape.

He emphasized that after extensive consultations and careful consideration of the current political situation, it became necessary for him to reconsider his membership in the NNPP. Gwarzo expressed his appreciation for the party's leadership and the support he received during his time as a member.

His resignation is effective immediately and reflects his intention to pursue a different political direction that aligns with his personal vision.
