Despite standing out during her time on the show, Angel admitted to not having a strong reason for entering the competition. In a separate incident, gospel singer Mike Abdul and Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo of the David Christian Centre in Lagos stirred controversy over the pastor's decision to get a tattoo.

Pastor Okonkwo defended his choice, stating that there is no clear biblical rule against tattoos and that one's faith should be judged by character and actions rather than outward appearances.
