Wike Clarifies Personal Visit to APC Chairman Yilwatda

Nyesom Wike, serving as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, addressed public criticism regarding his recent visit to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentaw Yilwatda. Wike stated that the meeting was purely personal and not politically motivated.

He spoke on Wednesday while inspecting ongoing road projects in Karu, Apo, and Kubwa within the Federal Capital Territory. Wike dismissed the backlash surrounding his visit as a misunderstanding, asserting that normal human relations should not be misconstrued as political enmity.

He noted that he has previously attempted to visit the APC chairman on several occasions without success. Wike, who remains a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emphasized that engaging with political colleagues does not imply hostility and is part of normal political and social life.

He reiterated his commitment to delivering infrastructure results for the residents of the FCT rather than responding to political speculation.
