Amaechi Claims Tinubu Will Not Rig 2027 Election

Rotimi Amaechi, the presidential running mate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), asserted that President Bola Tinubu will not engage in election rigging for the 2027 presidential election. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Amaechi warned that if Tinubu were to manipulate the election, it could lead to severe consequences for Nigeria.

He emphasized that the populace is exhausted and hungry, urging the President to address these issues by providing food and transparency regarding the funds from the removal of subsidies. Amaechi expressed his affection for Tinubu, stating, “nobody hates Tinubu, I love Tinubu; he knows.” Additionally, he criticized Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, labeling him a liar and referencing their long history, indicating that he has been in the media industry since Amaechi was in secondary school.

Amaechi stated he would not respond to Onanuga out of respect, referring to him as "Dede," meaning elder.
