FRSC Declines Participation in Edo Local Government Elections

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Edo Sector Command, represented by Mr. Prey Bedford, disclosed in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Benin City that the command will not participate in the local government elections scheduled for Saturday.

The decision stems from the command not receiving an official invitation to partake in the electoral process. Bedford emphasized that the command's absence is due to this lack of invitation and clarified that they are not involved in the election.

Additionally, the command will conduct routine operations during the election period, with a 12-hour movement restriction scheduled from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM to assess the situation and implement traffic control measures. The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission has confirmed that 12 political parties will participate in the elections across 18 local government areas in the state.
