Wicknell Chivayo and Lucy Muteke Buried in Memorial Park

Wicknell Chivayo, a Zimbabwean tycoon, and his wife, Lucy Muteke, were laid to rest at Sahwira Glen Forest Memorial Park after they tragically died in a helicopter crash on September 30, 2026. On October 9, a spokesperson for Nyaradzo Group, which operates the memorial park, explained the significance of the burial, noting that both families had agreed to the location.

The park had recently been acquired and rebranded, making the burial a notable event for the organization, which has provided end-of-life services for 25 years. The spokesperson reflected on the emotional impact of the loss, particularly on the couple's children, Atara and John, who were visibly distressed during the vigil.

The official emphasized the ongoing need for support for bereaved families beyond the funeral proceedings. Additionally, Wicknell Chivayo's ex-wife, Sonja Madzikanda, delivered a heartfelt message at the funeral, focusing on love and healing for their shared children.
