PDP Faction Backed by Wike Calls Emergency Meetings Amid Expulsion Crisis

A faction of the People Democratic Party (PDP) supported by Nyesom Wike has summoned emergency meetings of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) amid an expulsion crisis. The crisis escalated as key party figures, including former governors Samuel Anyanwu and Ayo Fayose, were expelled.

The faction, led by Abdulrahman Mohammed, aims to address the fallout of recent expulsions and intensify the confrontation with rival blocs, further deepening divisions within the party ahead of the 2023 general elections. The meetings are set to regularize disciplinary actions and solidify recent decisions related to party leadership and membership status.
