Wike Defends Fubara's Absence Amid Political Turmoil in Rivers State

Governor Nyesom Wike defended the absence of Governor Siminalayi Fubara following President Bola Tinubu's order to lift his suspension. Fubara and his deputy were suspended by the State House Assembly, with Tinubu declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State due to political unrest.

Despite the suspension being lifted, neither Fubara nor his deputy have resumed their duties, prompting concerns about their whereabouts. Wike emphasized the importance of physical presence in governance and stated that it was Fubara's right to decide when to return to office.
