Abuja Implements New Waste Management Regime Under Nyesom Wike's Leadership

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has initiated a new waste management regime in Abuja starting on November 17, 2025. Nyesom Wike presided over the FCT Executive Committee meeting where the new system was announced.

The Abuja Municipal Management Council (AMMC) disclosed the approval of a memo for new waste management contractors to provide services across various locations in the FCT. The regime includes provisions for waste collection, treatment plant maintenance, operations supervision, and vehicle utilization.

The move is expected to address previous complaints about waste disposal and enhance the cleanliness of Abuja, as emphasized by officials like Chidi Amadi.
