Fubara Credits Wike for His Political Success

Siminalayi Fubara, the current Governor of River State, acknowledged the significant impact of former Governor Nyesom Wike on his political journey, stating that Wike's discoveries contributed to his current prominence. Fubara made these remarks while receiving the New Telegraph Man of the Year award on Friday.

He emphasized that without Wike's influence, he would not have attained the governorship. Meanwhile, it was reported that Nelson Chukwudi, the former Chief Press Coordinator for the state government, has been relieved of his duties, although no reasons were provided for his dismissal.

This change occurred as Fubara dissolved the State Executive Council and relieved special advisers, with the announcement made in Port Harcourt on Thursday. The new Chief Press Secretary has not been named in the report.
