KRM Defects to ADC, Shifting Kwara's Political Landscape

The Kwara Redempt Movement (KRM) has officially announced its defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claiming a membership of 50,000 spread across 16 local government areas in Kwara State. The movement, which was formed nearly two years ago, criticizes the APC-led government under Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for failing to meet the expectations of the people since the 2019 elections.

KRM aims to bring about a new political paradigm and accelerate socio-economic development in the state. The leadership of KRM, led by former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Hon.

Iyiola Oyedepo, is focused on recruiting quality leaders ahead of the 2027 elections. The decision to defect was made during a meeting in Ilorin, where members, including Hon.

Bolaji Edun and Hon. Ganiyu Oniker, agreed to join the ADC to better serve the interests of the people and address the challenges faced by the state.
