KRM Group Defects to ADC, Shaping Kwara's 2027 Elections

The Kwara Redempt Movement (KRM) has announced its defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claiming a membership of 50,000 across 16 local government areas in Kwara State. This decision was made during a meeting in Ilorin, where the movement's leadership, including Hon.

Iyiola Oyedepo, emphasized the need for a new political paradigm to address perceived failures of the current APC-led government under Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. The KRM, formed nearly two years ago, has criticized the APC for not meeting the expectations of the people since the 2019 elections.

The movement aims to recruit quality leaders for the upcoming 2027 elections and has expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration's handling of socio-economic issues, including poverty and insecurity. The motion to defect was seconded by Hon.

Bolaji Edun and Hon. Ganiyu Oniker, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of Kwara State.
