Falana Urges Withdrawal of Tinubu's Controversial Pardon List

Human rights lawyer Falana has called for the immediate withdrawal and review of the presidential pardon list recommended by Bola Tinubu, which includes 175 individuals. The list, approved by the Council of State Pardon, has sparked controversy for pardoning individuals like Maryam Sanda, convicted of killing her husband in 2020.

Falana argues that the list includes politically exposed persons, drug barons, armed robbers, terrorists, and individuals convicted of serious offenses like culpable homicide and murder. He warns that failure to act promptly will undermine public confidence in the pardon process in Nigeria.
