APWEN Urges STEM Empowerment for Nigerian Girl-Child Education

The Association of Professional Women Engineers in Nigeria (APWEN) advocated for the empowerment of girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. Dr.

Adebisi Osim, the national president of APWEN, highlighted the importance of empowering girls in STEM to create a pool of engineers and scientists who can innovate and solve societal problems. APWEN emphasized the need for sustainable solutions in areas like water purification and traffic management through STEM education.

The organization called on the Nigerian government and stakeholders to invest in STEM education for girls to bridge the gender gap in technology and encourage female participation in STEM fields.
