Ezeike Pledges to Protect Nigerian Workers' Rights

On Workers' Day, Dr. Okwudili Ezeike, a House of Representatives aspirant for Aguata Federal Constituency in Anambra State, made a commitment to sponsor favorable legislation for Nigerian workers.

Speaking in Abuja, he emphasized the significant contributions of workers to national growth and called for stronger legal protections and better welfare packages. Ezeike, who has a background as a health officer and attorney, highlighted the inadequacies of current laws in addressing workplace safety and fair remuneration.

He proposed initiatives such as increasing the minimum wage in response to inflation, expanding health insurance coverage, and strengthening the enforcement of labor standards. Ezeike also noted the harsh working conditions that limit access to legal redress and quality healthcare for workers.

He urged the government to treat workers as strategic partners in building the nation and emphasized the importance of a motivated and properly compensated workforce for sustainable economic growth.
