Oliseh Calls Italy's World Cup Failure a Total Disaster

Sunday Oliseh, a former Juventus midfielder and coach of the Super Eagles, commented on Italy's failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, labeling it a "total disaster." He expressed disappointment over Italy's inability to perform at a high level, noting that they lost in a penalty shootout against Bosnia and Herzegovina during the European playoffs. Oliseh emphasized that this marks Italy's third consecutive failure to qualify for the World Cup, which he described as a genuine heartbreak for such a historically great football nation.

He observed that the Italian football team appears broken, with players lacking confidence and seemingly having forgotten how to play at the top level. Italy has won four World Cups, with their last victory occurring in 2006 when they defeated France in the final.
