Neto Critiques Ancelotti After Brazil's Win Over Japan

Brazilian football legend Neto criticized the performance of the Brazil National Team under coach Carlo Ancelotti during their World Cup 2026 match against Japan, which Brazil won 2-1. Neto, who earned 15 caps for Brazil from 1988 to 1993, expressed his disappointment regarding Ancelotti's decisions, particularly the absence of star player Neymar.

Brazil managed to advance past Japan thanks to goals from Casemiro and Gabriel Martinelli, with Martinelli scoring in injury time. Despite the victory, Neto felt that Brazil did not convincingly demonstrate their potential as World Cup champions.

He specifically questioned the inclusion of certain players, including Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha, and suggested that Neymar should have been on the pitch to help secure a more dominant performance. Brazil's next challenge will be against the Ivory Coast in the round of 16.
