Di Maria Urges Messi to Postpone Retirement from Football

Following Argentina's defeat to Spain in the World Cup final, former Argentina international Angel Di Maria encouraged Lionel Messi to delay his retirement from international football. Di Maria, who played alongside Messi for several years, referred to him as the best player in history and emphasized that the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner can continue representing the national team for many more years.

He stated, “Yes, Leo should continue for as long as he wants. I think he can keep going for many more years.” Di Maria noted Messi's performance at 39 years old, asserting that he has proven to be one of the best and remains the best in history, with “no ceiling.” Di Maria and Messi have previously won both the Copa America and the World Cup together while representing Argentina.
