Pearce Critiques Madueke After England's World Cup Win

Former England coach Stuart Pearce expressed disappointment in Arsenal winger Noni Madueke following England's World Cup victory over Congo. England faced a challenging match, initially trailing after Brian Cipenga's early goal.

However, England captain Harry Kane salvaged the situation with two late goals, the decisive one coming from an Anthony Gordon cross. This victory propelled England into the last 16 of the World Cup, where they are set to face co-host Mexico at Azteca.

Pearce criticized Madueke, who began the match as a substitute and was brought on for teammate Bukayo Saka in the 30th minute. Pearce noted that while Madueke showed promise in the first half, he took easier options in the second half, which disappointed Pearce.

Madueke's performance, along with several other England players, faced scrutiny as the team aims for their first World Cup title in 60 years.
